Mix flour, yeast and sugar. Add salt, then butter and milk and finally the eggs.
Knead properly, then let rest covered for about 1 hour. Then knead properly and let rest again covered for 1 hour (it is important to knead it twice, goes with 30 minutes resting as well).
Then braid, let rest on the tray again covered a little. Brush with egg, add hail sugar and bake at 175 °C for 25 minutes.
Preparation Tip:
If you like, you can also make the Striezel with raisins. Then it stays juicy longer.
