For the cabbage sprout casserole, peel and grate the raw potatoes. Mix them together with the potato dough mixture, the milk, some pepper, salt and nutmeg and spread them in a greased casserole dish.

First put the diced smoked meat and then the frozen cabbage sprouts on top. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and some nutmeg over the cabbage sprouts.

Bake the casserole at 200 °C for about 80 minutes. 15 minutes before the end of the baking time, sprinkle the cheese over the casserole and gratinate.

Cabbage sprouts casserole can also be prepared with bacon.
