Instructions:

In a baking bowl – knead flour, soft egg, sugar, butter, vanilla sugar and salt into a dough. On it form a dumpling from the dough and rest it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

In the meantime, peel the apples and cut them into very small pieces. Then sprinkle them in a baking bowl with cinnamon, sugar (vanilla sugar), sprinkle with the juice of one lemon and mix everything together well.

After that, the cold dough is rolled out on the previously floured table (or baking board) with the help of a little bit of flour until it reaches the size of the baking sheet, and put on the baking sheet previously covered with parchment paper.

Next, the apples are spread on it and sprinkled with butter flakes. Finally, spread the crumble on the apples and put everything together in the oven. Bake at 200 °C for about 40 min. It may be necessary to cover the cake with aluminum foil for the first 10-15 min, in particular when baking with bottom heat.

After about 40 minutes, take the cake out of the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Now it is placed on a wire rack for final cooling.

In a frying pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter with about 3 tablespoons of sugar, and stir into this caramel about 100 grams of almond kernels (this must be done very quickly if the caramel is not to be too dark) and spread this amount on the still warm cake. Completely cool
