A cake recipe for all foodies:

Salt, sugar, flour, egg and butter cut into small cubes quickly knead into a smooth dough. Form into a ball and rest in the refrigerator for about 1 hour. Meanwhile, remove skin from apples, core and cut into rings about 1/2 inch wide.

Roll out two-thirds of the dough on a floured surface and line a well-greased tart springform pan with it. Form a rim with the remaining dough. Prick the dough base a few times with a fork. Then fan and cover tightly with apple rings.

Brush with melted butter. Bake in oven heated to 200 °C for approx. 45 min. In the meantime, mix crème fraîche with eggs, sugar and vanilla sugar. Spread evenly over the tart and bake again for approx. 10 min. until the mixture has set.

Cool briefly, then remove from the pan and cool on a cooling rack. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
