Instructions:

For the cucumber crocodile, spread finely chopped Chinese cabbage on an oblong or oval platter. Slice the cucumber from the narrower side about 2/3 of the way up in even wheels. If possible, do not mix them up.

Slice the radishes as well. Slice the remaining third of the cucumber (this will be the head) lengthwise. Carve teeth. Save the resulting triangular cubes. Cut a crevice at the top of the head on the right and left sides and set aside.

Insert the radish wheels between the cucumber wheels. Divide the potatoes 1x each, these will be the legs. Arrange 2 potato halves each on the right and left and cut 3 claws each from the parts of the cut out joints and place them on the potatoes.

From the back end, place the “tooth scraps “on top. Slightly hollow out the bottom half of the head and insert the tomato. Place the top half of the head on top and pin at the back end of the joints with the toothpicks. As eyes for the cucumber crocodile, stick either 1 caper or raisin on each toothpick.

Preparation Tip:

I brought the cucumber crocodile to school as a "letter snack" for my grandchildren. Even kids who don't normally eat cucumbers or radishes diligently ate in the destruction.
