Instructions:

For the French Onion Cake, knead all dough ingredients into a smooth dough. Roll out the finished cake dough on a floured work surface. Line a high baking tray with baking paper and spread the dough evenly in the pan.

Preheat the oven to 200 °C. For the filling, peel the onion and cut into fine rings. Sauté briefly in a little clarified butter or oil. Remove the onion and let it cool down. Prepare a glaze with sour cream, yogurt, cornstarch and the butter. Stir in eggs as well as the onion, chopped chives and cheese. Season the glaze with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Pour on the cake batter, spread well and bake the French onion cake in the oven at 200 °C for about 20 minutes.

Preparation Tip:

A fresh leaf salad goes especially well with the French onion tart.
