For the Gugelhupf, first mix the powdered sugar, butter and egg yolks until creamy.

Fold in the curd cheese. Slowly stir in milk and flour with baking powder alternately. Whip the egg whites and fold in very carefully. Fold in the nuts, raisins and pumpkin seeds.

Grease the baking pan well and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Pour the mixture into the pan. Bake for about 35 – 40 minutes at 200 degrees. Test with a knitting needle.

Let the Gugelhupf cool down and sprinkle with powdered sugar and pumpkin seeds.

Preparation Tip:

If you want a marbled Gugelhupf, you need to mix about a third of the amount with cocoa.
