Yeast dough:

Instructions:

Place the flour in a large enough bowl and make a well in the center. Crumble the yeast, mix it with sugar, lukewarm water and a little bit of flour in the hollow.

Cover the baking dish and place it in the oven, which has heated up a little. After half an hour, add the eggs and the melted butter to the flour form and knead by hand or possibly with a mixer to a smooth but dry dough. Warm the dough again for half an hour with the lid closed.

Next, roll out to about 5 mm thick, and cut out 5 rectangles about 10 x 15 cm in size. Cut the Black Forest Ham into cubes. Halve the onions and cut them into thin slices.

Sauté both in a saucepan with the lid closed for a few minutes until soft. Cover each pastry rectangle with the ham and onion mixture, then roll up, brush with beaten egg yolk and bake at 200 °C for 20-25 minutes.

Fry the thin slices of ham briefly and garnish the rolls with them.

Tip: It is best to use your favorite ham – then your dish will taste twice as good!
