Ingredients:

Instructions:

For the layered sandwich, first prepare the bechamel sauce. To do this, melt the butter in a saucepan and add the flour. Stir well until a light-colored roux is formed. Add the milk and bring to the boil. Meanwhile, stir all the time. Season to taste with salt, pepper and nutmeg.

Preheat the oven to 160 °C.

Grate the cheese. Pick apart the ham. Cut the crust off the toast. Cut out circles the size of the jars you are using from the toast slices. Briefly place in the toaster (should not get too crispy).

Now in ovenproof jars or ramekins (canning jars with lids or ramekins) first place a slice of toast. Cover it with ham. Put a little bechamel sauce on top and some of the cheese. Repeat until all the ingredients are used. Last should be a thicker layer of cheese.

Put the layer sandwich in the oven and gratinate.

Preparation Tip:

If you like, you can also put a layer of vegetables in between in the layer sandwich. Instead of ham, crispy fried bacon can also be used.
