Instructions:

Finely dice onion and coarsely grate beetroot, fry both in oil over medium heat. Mix minced meat with all spices, salt and pepper. Add the fried vegetables to the mince.

Pour the remaining oil into the frying dish and spread well with a brush. Place thyme sprigs well distributed on top. Mix the minced meat with the spices and onion mixture, when everything is well mixed, add the crumbled feta cheese. Do not crush completely, pieces may remain.

Spread this meat mixture on the thyme sprigs and flatten well. Turn on the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and put the oven on the lowest rack.

Allow to roast for about 40 minutes, then spread the shredded cheese on top and continue roasting for another 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is nicely browned.

Preparation Tip:

This makes an excellent family meal or even, cut into pieces lukewarm or cold, a great party food.
