Try this delicious cake recipe:

Preheat the oven to 125 °C (gas mark 1). Grease a large cup cake pan with butter and dust with cocoa powder. Heat coffee and bourbon in a heavy saucepan over low heat.

Add chocolate and butter and heat, stirring, until mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Cool for 5 minutes, then mold into a wide-mouth pan.

Sift through the flour, baking powder and baking soda and salt and mix into the chocolate mixture in small amounts with an electric mixer (on low speed). Add eggs and vanilla extract. Mix the batter (it is very thin) until smooth and pour into the baking pan.

Bake the cake in the oven for about 1 1/2 hours (if you stick a toothpick in the center of the cake, no more batter should stick to it). Cool on a cooling rack.

Turn out of the pan. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with whipped cream to taste.
