For the pork medallions, preheat the oven to maximum top heat (250 °C or grill).

Salt and pepper the pork medallions. Heat some oil and butter in a pan and fry the medallions for about 2 minutes on each side. Lift the meat out of the pan.

Cut the prosciutto slices into thirds and place a piece of prosciutto on each pork medallion. Slice mozzarella and place on top as well.

Place pork medallions in an ovenproof dish coated with oil and bake over high top heat.

Meanwhile, cut the basil leaves into strips. Then arrange the baked pork medallions on preheated plates. Sprinkle basil on top and garnish with caper berries.
