For the powidl, pit the washed plums and mix them with the water and cinnamon in a larger pot and bring to a slow boil.
Once the plums boil, simmer slowly over low heat, stirring frequently. Do not cover, as you want the water to evaporate. After 2 hours, puree with a hand blender and continue to simmer slowly.
The mixture should reduce to less than half – can take a long time. Then pour into sterilized jars and seal tightly.
Preparation Tip:
Depending on the degree of ripeness, the powidl becomes sweeter or less sweet. If the puree is too sour, you can add a little sugar.
