For the red cabbage and fig salad, cut the figs into thin slices and drizzle with a little olive oil.

Remove the stalk from the red cabbage and cut into fine strips. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of sugar, knead well for 5 minutes, let stand for 20 minutes.

For the dressing, mix well the honey with the juice of two oranges, sesame seeds, balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Season to taste with a little salt and pepper.

Mix half of the dressing into the red cabbage.

Peel the remaining orange and cut out small fillets (without the white strings of fruit).

Spread the red cabbage on a platter, place the figs and oranges on top. Drizzle the remaining dressing over the top and sprinkle a few chopped walnuts at the end.

Serve the red cabbage and fig salad immediately.

Preparation Tip:

Instead of walnuts, walnut bread also goes well with the red cabbage and fig salad.
