To prepare rowanberry juice from dried fruit, wrap the berries with a tea towel and crush them with a meat tenderizer.
Bring 1 l of water to a boil in a pot and add the crushed rowan berries. Bring to a boil again and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes. Hang a large strainer in a pot and line with a straining cloth (muslin cloth). Filter the juice, using a spoon if necessary. Pour the rowanberry juice into carefully cleaned bottles, drizzle a little alcohol on top, light and seal immediately. Store in a cool and dark place.
Preparation Tip:
Taste a rowan berry before you start picking. The berries should taste tart, but not bitter. Pick the berries after the first frost, then they will be less bitter.
